Welcome!

Being part of the larger, global community means reaching out to people in other countries, people we may never even meet. Over the past year the West Edge community raised $35,000 to build a home for widows and orphans in Africa in an effort to fight the devastating effects of the AIDS pandemic. This home will be part of a larger Village of Hope in Malawi.

A missions team has now been assembled to travel to Africa to help build this home. This Blog is where you can follow the team and their experiences during their trip. Please feel free to leave a comment.

Hey Gang,

Saturday afternoon April 30th in Mississauga, cloudy rainy spring day. Just another typical day in Ontario. Not for all of you world travellers. I am so proud of all of you. For taking a leap of faith, to do God's work. For demonstrating "love you neighbour". For giving so much for those who are less fortunate.
Our thoughts are filled with all of you. You are a living example of Jesus's love and compassion for others. We pray for your safety and the amazing life changing experience.
We pray for your strength and fellowship.

God Bless,
The Hethermans

Note from the Away Team

We arrived in London tired but happy, then proceeded to the London Subway and went into London. We rode an open topped double decker bus, had a great day, and even got a small donation from the bus conductor!!
We leave for Malawi in a few hours and will arrive around noon Sunday.
Thanks for all your thoughts and prayers.

Bob..Here is a verse from the Word for you…

My soul, wait in silence for God only, For my hope is from Him, He only is my rock and my salvation, My stronghold; I shall not be shaken.
On God my salvation and my glory rest; The rock of my strength, my refuge is in God.
Trust in Him at all times, O people; Pour out your heart to Him; God is refuge for us.
Psalm 62:5 – 8

Have a great trip brother, the men’s group is praying for you and God bless you as you seek to serve Him.

In the Love of Christ,
Andrew Wright

I have found a great website for those of you that wish to watch the forecast of where our loved ones are:

http://www.weather-forecast.com/locations/Lilongwe.1to3.shtml
Just copy and paste it to your browser. It shows up until Wednesday and the weather looks good. No rain in the forecast, winds between 5-15km and temps between 15-22 degrees celcius. Nice working weather. To the team: can't wait for your daily updates.
Miss you greatly.
